In recent years the No 1 spot has been dominated by 1 Direction, Cheryl, Frozen, Minions etc. but for 2017 its Football's year to shine and Mourinho will not be happy when he finds out that Liverpool have pinched the Number 1 spot and made history, with over 3% more sales than the runner up Manchester United

This is the first time that 2 Sport Calendars have taken the No 1 & 2 spots in Danilo's 38 year sales history!

Back in 2011 – 2015, 1D dominated the top of the charts but it seems that the girls, sport and film have come back into fashion with the new No 1 title for 2016 'MINIONS' followed at 2 by Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens, and then Manchester United who have received their first top 3 position in over a decade.

Then follows One Direction at 4, who are still the highest placed music artists, Liverpool FC at 5, Cliff Richard climbs back up to 6 from 9 beating new entry Olly Murs at 14, 5 Seconds of Summer a new entry at 7, Disney's Frozen feels the chill and drops to 8 from No 1 last year! But a great climb for popular TV series Great British Bake off who climbed to 8 from 20 last year.

And it seems the girls are back in the top 20, with Kelly Brook making number 10, followed closely by X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and pop princess Kylie Minogue.

New top twenty entries for 2016 include popular Vloggers Joe and Caspar and we have even seen Elvis Presely (our longest running calendar title) make the jump to position 17!

AND CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THOSE WHO GUESSED CORRECTLY…

So a big congratulations to all those who entered our "Guess the Bestselling 2016 Calendar" Competition and guessed Minions!

One lucky person will therefore be selected at random this week to win £50 PLUS a 2016 Calendar of their choice and 10 x runners up will also be awarded a 2016 Calendar.

Interestingly from the hundreds of entries we had for the competition, 24% guessed correctly that Minions would be the topseller, second to 25% of people who believed Frozen would take the title for a second year. In third place, 20% voted that One Direction would win followed by 9% who thought the new and upcoming Star Wars Epiosde 7 may steal the crown.

Danilo Celebrates Quadruple Win At Calendar Awards

January has certainly been a busy month for Award Ceremonies and for Danilo it has been no different, with the National Calendar Awards taking place last night.

The NCA's are a major national event (we like to think the OSCAR's of the calendar world) held annually to celebrate the UK's best calendars and bring together printers, designers, photographers, artists, publishers as well as the industry's future 'the student'. With 25 awards being given, the NCA's celebrate and reward the best designs from suppliers and design students alike.

Held at the beautiful Stationer's Hall in London we were delighted to mingle with friends from Calendar Club, Grange Communications, Pixel, Carousel Calendars, Avonside Publishing among others, whilst wandering through the exhibition and admiring all the 2015 nominations.

And this year we were delighted to have received eight nominations and won FOUR awards!

Winning Best New Title and Best Retail Calendar was our bestselling calendar Disney's Frozen
All Beatles fan will be pleased to hear that our Beatles Collection Edition Calendar won the Best Celebrity / Media title
We were thrilled that the stunning Kelly Brook won the People's Choice award (voted for on the night) for her glamorous 2015 calendar.

NCA award winning calendars 2015

A big congratulations to the other winners of the night including Carousel Calendars, Rose Calendars, Avonside, Pyramid, Flame Tree Publishing and Louise Taylor in addition to the design students who received their merit and highly commended certificates. In particular a very well done to Sharna Guest-Crossly who received the student trophy for her inspiring Alzheimer's Research UK Calendar.

Journalist, broadcaster and TV star Janet Street Porter hosted and presented the awards. Outspoken and witty, Janet gave her introduction, teasingly asking the question "so where's my calendar?" and proved to be a great guest at the event.

Now the team are gearing up for showing our 2016 range at Spring Fair in Birmingham this February, and we hope we can replicate our success at next year's awards!

Danilo Q & A with Kelly Brook!

We were delighted to catch up with one of our favourite calendar beauties, the stunning Kelly Brook who very kindly answered a few questions for us. Here's what Kelly had to say about her upcoming TV series, where she'll be spending New Years and what she thinks of Keith Lemon's calendar!

Q: What is your favourite Calendar date in your year and is there a date in 2015 you are looking forward too?

A:My favourite Calendar date is my Birthday. It's the 23rd November and I feel it really kicks off party season being so close to Christmas 😉 This year I'm looking forward to my TV show OneBigHappy airing in February on US Television. It's a big moment for me.

Q: Which month's picture in your Calendar is your favourite?

A: I really like how simple the Calendar is this year. I think February is my favourite month.

Q: Which Calendar will you have on your wall in 2015?

A: Keith Lemon. He always teases me that his outsells mine. He steals all my poses and facial expressions.

Q: What was it like being in Lawson's video?

A: It was fantastic. I was so flattered to be asked. I loved the song Juliet and the concept. They are a very talented group of Lads.

Q: Which role are you filming in LA and what would be your dream part?

A: I've just finished shooting my sitcom OneBigHappy. I'm reading scripts at the moment to see if there are any other roles that I can do between now and filming our second series.

Q : Dec 31st is a big diary date for everyone, where will you be and who with?

A: I will most probably be in America with friends.

Q: You have published over ten calendars, do you have plans for one in 2016? A: I'm already thinking about it. I would like to do something beachy and exotic.

Frozen tops 2015 Calendar Chart!

Frozen Disney Square Calendar 2015 tops Calendar Chart

The eagerly anticipated annual Calendar chart is finally here and this year sees a new Number One!

Going straight to No 1 is Disney's Frozen! Making its calendar debut this year, the hit movie has pushed One Direction (the last three years No 1) off the top spot and into second place!

Popular game Minecraft has actually moved up since last year, going from 6 to third place! 5 Seconds of Summer debuts at number 4 and have become the hottest selling Aussie band for years! They've even outsold British pop band The Vamps, who also make their debut at number 8!

Those loveable minions from Despicable Me makes it debut and enters this year's chart at Number 7. Cliff makes his 30th top ten Calendar chart entry and Michelle Keegan storms into the top ten with her Calendar debut at Number 10! This puts her ahead of regular chart entries Kelly Brook (No 11) & Cheryl (No 15)

The hottest man to make his debut and enter the Cal top 20 is Benedict Cumberbatch at Number 18, putting him above cheeky chappy Robbie Williams at 19!

Also making the top 50 are Kylie, Beyonce, Pink, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Little Mix and the Saturdays. The next best boys are Olly Murrs, Gary Barlow, Ed Sheeran, Michael Buble, Peter Andre and the lovely Paul Hollywood, who also makes his Calendar debut this year!

Plus this year sees Justin Bieber (was No 13), Olly Murs (was No 15), Union J ( was No 17), Top Gear (was No 9) and Big Bank Theory (was No 7) all leave the top 20 list!
